WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

A supportive membership and dedicated group of volunteers is essential to the success of our organization. We need both new and sustaining members at every level of financial support, as well as volunteers to work on committees, provide labor or materials, staff community events, and share their expert advice or skills.

DO YOU HAVE A MASTER PLAN?

The BCBGNP board currently uses a strategic multi-year plan. This plan is reviewed and revised each year as site elements are completed or as goals, projects, and funding change. However, this is different than a “master” plan which serves as an overall blueprint for the design and planting of the gardens, construction of buildings, and a phasing plan with real costs.

We are currently seeking funds to hire a professional landscape architect firm to develop a master plan.

HOW MUCH WILL THE GARDENS COST TO BUILD?

We will have a good estimate once the master plan has been completed. However, we do know it will be in the millions. Keep in mind the development plans will be split up into several phases with each phase taking 3-5 years to complete.

HOW ARE THE FUNDS BEING RAISED?

We currently raise funds through: foundation, local, state, and federal grants; donations; individual memberships; group or business contributions, and special events.

With the master plan in hand, we will start a capital campaign in which businesses, foundations and community leaders will be asked to help make this growing landmark a reality. We will continue to apply for any grants that are available.

WHEN WILL THE GARDENS BE COMPLETED?

A botanical garden project of this size will have to be developed in phases, and may take many years to bring to fulfillment. Specific details will be available once our master plan has been developed.
